3 Reasons Why The Marlins Should Trade For Bryan Reynolds

1. Because he’s awesome and controllable

Bryan Reynolds was ATROCIOUS last year or at least that’s what you’d think when you hear “down year” about a player. But were traumatized Marlins fans who are used to “down years” meaning that a player had a negative fWAR and an OPS below .600 because were always signing aging players who really cant be counted on for real offensive production like Dickerson, Joyce, Garcia, Soler. The difference is that Reynolds is actually good at baseball and even in his WORST year in the league he still had a 2.9 fWAR and a 125 wRC+ which would’ve been highest on the team except for Jazz’ 139 wRC+. He’s also not a free agent till 2026.

2. Because I really like him 🙂

3. Because were wasting young controlled pitching

Kim Ng can do her GM talk all she wants but anyone WHO KNOWS BALL, knows that this team AS CURRENTLY CONSTRUCTED is not going to do a damn thing playing 57 games a year against the Phillies, Braves, and Mets. All who have gotten significantly better this offseason. You cant tell fans you’re trying to win games while trotting out the same exact team as last year + Jean Segura (who I like). To be honest, even if we trade for Reynolds and sign Profar, I still think we’d be the 4th best team in our own division but it would definitely be a HUGE step in the right direction.

Bonus

I’m asking really nicely. I’ve had my qualms with the Marlins organization. I’ve been contacted by police for things I’ve said on twitter regarding the teams decisions. I’ve been blocked by Middy Ro. But I feel like this is the last big move they can make (unless there’s one out there we haven’t heard of) that’ll really make fans feel ANYTHING. Please don’t make me tweet some nasty shit again.
